Business Public Trust was founded to strengthen public confidence in business, and to examine the conditions on which that confidence depends. We conduct research, publish reports, and offer guidance to companies and leaders working to earn and keep public trust. We study what earns it and what costs it: how companies are governed, how they handle risk, how they answer to regulators, investors, employees, and the communities they operate in. We are unaffiliated with any company or trade group, and we follow the questions where they lead. We believe in the power of enterprise to transform society. Business creates work, raises living standards, funds discovery, and builds the things a country runs on. When public confidence in business erodes, that capacity is diminished, and the loss is shared by everyone.
